So where is Thornlands?
With a population of about 11,000, Thornlands is a well kept secret – a quiet little gem of a place, yet close to most amenities you’ll ever need. About 28km east of Brisbane, located bayside between Cleveland & Victoria Point, close to Redland Bay, Thornlands is a friendly community close to the beach & Raby Bay, with plenty of shopping nearby, near a hospital, a great choice of schools, plenty of natural bushland & parks and Stradbroke Island literally on your doorstep. Ideal for boaties & those who love fishing, the place has a range of sporting facilities, dining & entertainment options with easy access by ferry from Redland Bay to all the islands on Moreton Bay. Not far from Brisbane, not far from the Gold Coast, not far from the Sunshine Coast, not far from Brisbane Airport, Thornlands is far enough away from the hustle & bustle to feel well out of the rat race, yet close enough to everything when you need it.
This is what a couple of Thornlands locals had to say…
“Thornlands – a Great place to live”
I have lived in the same house since 1992 in Thornlands. Great neighbours, close to shops, schools and parks not to mention the water front access. I love living here. My street and surrounding streets are quiet with a real community atmosphere. It would be hard to leave the area. Thornlands is an all-round wonderful place to live.
“A growing residential area, close to everything”
Thornlands is a great place to live and raise a family, schools within walking distance, private schools 5 to 7 minutes drive, choice of 2 great local shopping areas, plus another 2 major centres within 13minutes drive. Quiet tree lined residential streets with abundant parklands and walking paths. Great coffee shops only minutes away plus top award winning bakery. New top class restaurant just opened 13 minutes away at 119 Colburn Ave. Vicky Point, with executive chef from an award winning brisbane restaurant. 5 minutes drive to beautiful moreton bay. Great local Council Chambers with real people to answer any questions. And best of all, wonderful local birdlife to enjoy on your back patio. We have butcher birds calling for breakfast almost every day. I moved here from Brisbane’s Bayside and would never go back. Truly the best part of the Redlands.
